Complete Playground Inclusive Social Policy
1. Commitment to Inclusion and Diversity
Complete Playground is founded on the belief that play, learning, and discovery should be accessible to all children and families—regardless of ability, background, income, race, gender identity, or cultural heritage. We actively design and operate our spaces, programs, and policies to ensure that every child and caregiver feels welcomed, valued, and respected.
2. Accessibility and Universal Design
We apply universal design principles to all our physical and digital environments. This includes sensory-friendly design, wheelchair accessibility, adaptive equipment. Our staff is trained to anticipate and accommodate diverse needs.
3. Sensory-Friendly Practices
We recognize that some children may experience sensory sensitivities. To ensure a calm and supportive environment, Complete Playground offers sensory-friendly hours on weekend mornings, featuring reduced lighting, no background music, and smaller group sizes. Families are encouraged to plan their visits accordingly to ensure the most comfortable experience possible.
4. Equity in Access and Participation
We offer scholarships and sliding-scale programs to reduce financial barriers and ensure that cost does not prevent any child or family from participating in our programs. We partner with community organizations, schools, and healthcare providers to identify and support underserved populations.
5. Respectful Conduct, Safety, and Protection
We are committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming space for every child. All staff, volunteers, families, and visitors are expected to treat one another with respect and kindness. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, or exclusion of any kind is not tolerated.
We reserve the right to intervene promptly when behavior becomes aggressive, harmful, or unsafe. This may include redirecting activities, temporarily removing a child from play areas, or requesting a caregiver’s involvement to ensure everyone’s safety. Our goal is always to protect the dignity and well-being of all children while addressing challenging behavior with compassion and professionalism.
We reserve the right to deny entry at our discretion in order to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all.
6. Staff Training and Professional Development
All staff and volunteers receive regular training in inclusive practices, trauma-informed care, de-escalation strategies, and emergency response protocols. This ensures our team is prepared to support children with diverse needs and to respond quickly and appropriately to any situation.
7. Collaboration with Families and Experts
We actively collaborate with parents, caregivers, educators, therapists, and medical professionals to continuously improve our inclusive practices. We welcome feedback, suggestions, and partnership opportunities to ensure our policies remain responsive and effective.
8. Accountability and Transparency
Complete Playground is committed to transparency in our policies and practices. We routinely review our programs, gather community feedback, and publish updates to ensure that our standards of inclusion are maintained and improved.
9. Privacy and Confidentiality
We respect the privacy of all children and families. Any personal or health-related information shared with our staff is kept strictly confidential and used only to enhance safety and support.
